POPI POLICY

Purpose:

This policy outlines the compliance measures for the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) to ensure the protection and lawful processing of personal information within our real estate firm.

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and third-party service providers handling personal information on behalf of the firm.

Accountability:We are responsible for personal information under our control and will appoint an Information Officer to oversee compliance.

Processing Limitation:Personal information will be collected for specific, legitimate purposes and not processed further in ways incompatible with those purposes.

Purpose Specification:Information will be collected only for defined purposes related to real estate transactions, including property sales, rentals, and client relations.

Information Quality:We will take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.Openness:We will provide clear information about how personal information is collected, used, and retained through our privacy notice.

Safeguards:We will implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or destruction.

Data Subject Participation:Individuals have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of their personal information. Requests will be handled in accordance with legal requirements.

Retention and Disposal:Personal information will be retained only as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and will be securely disposed of when no longer required.

Compliance and Review:

This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to ensure continued compliance with POPIA. Non-compliance will be addressed through appropriate disciplinary measures.
